A BRAND NEW LOOK STILL COMING. Just not as soon as hoped for.

Life does have a habit of interrupting the best of plans.  In the next few weeks there will be a new look!!  New web site and a new blog with, ahem, regular posts.  The “ahem”  was addressed to myself  to stay on top of things. :)   Am looking forward to it and hope you will be to.  Thanks.

Black & White

Am partial to Black & White photography.  There is a transparency that is present when color is taken away.  The form of the subject can clearly be seen, and to quote one of the best B&W photographers, Henri Cartier Bresson, form is everything.  With out the attraction, or maybe the distraction of color an emotional honesty becomes clear and wonderful stories emerge.

Abandonded

Traveling the back roads (in which there are many) of the county I come across these abandoned homes. It reminds me of the poem by Mary Oliver:

“To live in this world

you must be able

to do three things:

to love what is mortal;

to hold it

against your bones knowing

your own life depends on it;

and, when the time comes to let it go,

to let it go.”

My Mom :)

This is my mom.  The woman who has given me her all, inspiring me, helping me encouraging me.  She has been my best friend.  Many hours this past year has been given by her family in tenderly caring for her in her last years.  We honor her for all she has done and for the beauty she has given to so many.

Sweet flowers I bring;
Mother, accept, I pray,
My offering.

And may you happy live,
And long us bless;
Receiving as you give
Great happiness.
